Have you come across the “Cigars according to Edmond” blog? Ever wondered how it got its name? It’s inspired by Edmond Dantès, the character from Alexandre Dumas’ iconic novel, “The Count of Monte Cristo”. Much like Dantès, who was driven by passion and a sense of adventure, our blogger channels this same fervour, not only for literature but also for cigars.
As a true aficionado, it wasn’t long before he started sharing his rich, smoky tales with fellow enthusiasts through his blog. His detailed tasting notes showcased his deep technical expertise and love for cigars. This passion eventually led him to craft his own humidors, tailored to his precise needs. His first creation, the “WELLES”, stands out as a masterpiece of modern design, combining contemporary shapes and materials, a true testament to his skill as both a designer and artist.
Naturally, following the success of his blog and humidors, he embarked on a bold new venture: creating his own cigar. Along with his friend Antonio, he developed their first cigar under the brand “IZAMBAR”, named after his line of humidors. The name is not only catchy but also rich in history, paying homage to Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the brilliant 19th-century British engineer known for his love of cigars. It’s said Brunel could smoke up to 40 cigars a day!
After a year of meticulous development and careful analysis of flavours and aromas, they launched their debut cigar, the “Kingdom”. This is just the beginning, and we hope to see many more creations from them. This journey wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of his friend and partner, Antonio Urech, co-founder of the Swiss-based “IZAMBAR CIGARS”. Their story is a remarkable example of how passion and perseverance can turn dreams into reality.
